Tea Talk: Intro to Herbalism & Local Medicinal Plants

Saturday @ 9:00AM

with Jess Pleyel (she/her) and Brittney Mast (she/her)

Location: Mammoth Creek Park

This Outdoor Recreation Active Bystander Training is a specialized workshop designed for the rock climbing community. It aims to equip climbers with the knowledge, awareness, and practical skills to support survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual violence (SV), as well as to safely intervene when witnessing or suspecting harm in climbing spaces. This training is rooted in the belief that creating a safe and inclusive climbing culture requires active participation from everyone. Whether you're at the gym, at the crag, or on a multi-pitch route, this session will help you recognize red flags, understand survivor-centered approaches, and build the confidence to step in when needed. By the end of this training, participants will be better prepared to recognize harmful behaviors, support survivors with empathy and care, and take meaningful steps to intervene in ways that prioritize safety and dignity.

*ASL Interpretation must be scheduled in advance.

Evening ACRO Yoga

Saturday @ 7:30PM

with Santeena Pugliese (she/her)

Location: Mammoth Creek Park

Three Creeks is a rare 5-acre oasis between Big Pine and Independence, California. This opportunity has provided space to nurture connections that build alliances, bring attention to local/global water issues, contribute to food sovereignty, support cultural revitalization, and engage youth and community members with global stewards.

In 2022, the Owens Valley Indian Water Commission was approached by local community members and allies Jen Schleck and Santeena Pugliese with the opportunity to come together as partners and hold a historic moment in Payahuunadu. Returning 5 acres of privately owned land to Owens Valley Indian Water Commission, a tribal consortium of 3 local tribes, the Bishop, Big Pine, and Lone Pine tribes. In early 2023, they successfully raised $900K to purchase the property. We have raised an additional $1,100,000 to cover maintenance, building repair, stewardship, and land restoration.

*This event is FREE + OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Location: various, meet at Mammoth Creek Park

Join us for one of our fav parts of the weekend, our Stewardship Project facilitated by our partners at Friends of the Inyo! We think it's necessary and important to give back and take care of the lands on which we recreate. We hope that you will join us in blowing away our community partners with how many of our attendees care about taking care of these lands. We’ll have two awesome projects to choose from this year:

  • Help clear invasive species from the trails right in Mammoth Creek Park! There will probably, definitely, be a contest for filling the most buckets with invasive plants ;)

  • Start building a new trail in the Sherwin Lakes area! Use big tools to chop branches and clear brush!!

Stewardship Project

Saturday @ 12:30AM

Meetups

with Lor Sabourin (they/them) - presented by Patagonia

*This event is FREE + OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Location: Upstairs at Mammoth Brewing Company

When Lor first started working on Stranger than Fiction—a wild, remote crack in the Utah desert—it was just a hard route with a cool story. They were focused on one thing: becoming a “real” 5.14 climber. And Stranger was definitely that. They expected the route to challenge them physically. What they didn’t expect was how it would show up for them emotionally—becoming a steady presence through a time of big transitions, quiet heartbreak, and the messy, powerful process of growing up. In the midst of complex grief and change, the climb offered something solid to hold onto. Join Lor as they dig into what climbing can offer beyond the usual “I sent the thing and now I’m inspiring” narrative—and explore how our time on the wall can help us show up more fully, and more human, in a world that urgently needs it.

*ASL Interpretation must be scheduled in advance.
